I am often asked each year if Father's Day is a hard day for me. Of course it is - I lost my father 9 years ago. However, having said that, every day without my father is a hard day. This is the reason I passionately participate in the Do it For Dad's Walk each year with my family and friends. I don't want others to feel the pain and loss that I feel every day without my father. I don't want others to have birthdays, holidays and milestones without their fathers. I don't want other young kids, like my own, to grow up without their special grandfather in their lives.

What is Do it for Dads?
Unfortunately, 1 in 7 Canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime. Do it for Dads is a rallying cry to help raise funds and awareness of prostate cancer. We need to ensure that men are aware of their risk and doing everything to encourage early detection. Prostate Cancer Canada is the only national foundation dedicated to the elimination of the disease through research, education support and awareness. Please join us this year and help Do it for Dads!
